Mana is energy produced by the earth, and spellcasters drawn on this power to cast spells, however if you use up all the Mana in an area, the earth's life force begins to be drawn out instead. This is a very powerful energy, but the act of desecrating the earth corrupts both this energy, and it's wielder. As an action, you can gain a pool of Black Mana spell slots with a combined level of up to double your spellcaster level,(if you are using a class like a ranger, with half-progression spellcasting, or are a multiclassed spellcaster, use the multiclassed spellcaster table in the player's handbook to determine your effective spellcaster level) this Black Mana goes away after 10 minutes, but until it does, you can spend it to cast spells as normal, however, all this power does not come without a price. 10 minutes after using black Mana, you gain a corruption point, this marks your descent into madness and darkness, as the black Mana twists your mind and body, based on how many corruption points you have, you must apply the following effects
1. you gain two levels of exhaustion, and you gain one flaw, as decided by the DM, as your mind reels from the experience
2.your body becomes twisted, you lose 2 points in a random ability score, but you increase a different ability score by 1, also, one of your limbs might become black, and twisted, a healing spell of 7th level or higher, can return the limb to normal, as well as the ability score.
3.your mind becomes more twisted still, you take a permanent -2 to your wisdom score, and you gain an additional flaw, bond and character trait of the DM's choice
4. your body twists further still, your hit point maximum is reduced by an amount equal to your level, if you received magical healing to restore your twisted limb, it reverts to it's twisted state, and the corruption spreads across your body, giving you a dark, and twisted appearance, healing of 9th level or higher MIGHT be able to revert, or at least mitigate your suffering
5. You become something...else... your body and mind are twisted beyond recognition, no magic known to Man, Keidran, or Dragon can save you now, and your become an NPC under the DM's control, and your original bond is forgotten, and most likely you will seek to destroy all that you once held dear.
